We had an a gorgeous day leaving Inverness in high sun and with a little seal looking at us. This should have warned us of the lack of wind we would meet a few hours later. The wind was not as predicted and though we had a few hours of sailing, the wind completely died out.
We had our first night sail motoring a long the coast and the poor skipper had to deal with crew constantly falling a sleep. It wasn’t too cold and the waves were small, so not a rough and challenging night.
We came to Wick harbour around 5 AM and had a short sleep following brunch with French toast. Now we have a few nights in Wick planned before the wind again will be with us.
